Absolutely nothing to report on from Botswana.
There were some massive local crosses in the like of Carbacid, EABL and Safcom which distorts the real market activity as general trading was rather subdued. In normal trading we saw some action in Safcom (+30bps, KES14.05) and KNCB (+1.7%, KES58.50) while the bulk of the day was quiet.
As expected it was a very quiet day in Port Louis. The only real action took place in BBCL (+2.65%, Rs6.98) while MCBG (unch, Rs198.00) and SBMH (+99bps, Rs1.02) were quiet.
After a quiet start the market got more lively into the close. Banks continued on their good run as the sector gained 1.99% led higher by GTB (+5%, N26.26) while most of the activity took place in GTB, Zenith (+1.95%, N19.85) and FBNH (-2.15%, N 9.10). Consumers were also strong as they gained 2.48% with strength across most of the sector.Activity was again focused on Nestle (+6.96%, N995) and NB (+1bp, N161.00). Dangcem saw some nice activity although the name lost 1.45% to N193.79 while there was also decent activity in Seplat (+10.25%, N355.12), Oando (-4.86%, N19.00) and Forte Oil (+6.19%, N227.25).
