Nothing of note happened in Gaborone today. There was some mild trading activity in Choppies (406t), BIHL (1151t) and Sefalana (922t).
Another solid day from a turnover point of view in Nairobi as turnover amounted to $11.6m with foreigners dominating proceedings. Some foreign selling pressure in EQBNK drove the name -1.0% lower on 3.15m shares. Safcom took some serious strain today as the telco fell -4.1% on 18.89m shares with foreigners driving the pushing the name lower. There was also foreign profit taking in EABL as the brewer fell -1.3% on 567k shares.
The market was closed yesterday for elections and today was only a half day of trading in Port Louis. As such volumes were rather quiet with only mild action in SBMH (unch, Rs1.03) and Ciel (unch, Rs7.50) while MCBG closed unchanged at Rs200.00 albeit on tiny volumes.
Another active in Lagos as turnover amounted to $30.9m with crosses in the likes of GTB ($5.76m), DangCem ($5.13m),Zenith ($2.63m), Seplat ($2.43m), Diamond Bank ($1.98m) and NB ($1.67m). Banks took some strain today with the Index falling -3.0% with pressure on Zenith (-5.00%), Access (-4.88%), UBA (-4.78%) and FBNH (-4.00%). Consumers (-4.45%) also took a beating with Flour Mills (-9.74%), NB (-5.00%), Guinness (-5.00%) and Cadbury (-5.00%) all taking strain (just to name a few). Cements were also weak with DangCem and WAPCO falling -3.37% and -2.89% respectively.

Activity was spread across a few names for a change in Zimbabwe. These included Seedco (97c), Old Mutual (240c), Innscor (58c), Econet (64c) and Delta (109c).
