A return to some decent activity in Gaborone. Action was heavily centered on Turnstar (200t) and Letshego (267t).
Activity was more subdued than it has been for most of the week although foreign buying persists in the large caps. The most action took place in EABL where some chunky crosses (local sellers, foreign buyers) pushed the brewer up by 1.3% to KES318. The banks had a mixed day with Equity Bank rising by 1% to KES50.50 while KNCB slid by 1.7% to KES58.50. Safcom rose by 1.7% to KES14.80 as demand remains strong in the telco.
A quiet end to the week in Port Louis. Activity was focused on NMH (unch, Rs87.00), MCBG (-49bps, Rs202.00) and SBMH (unch, Rs1.02).
Nothing special to end the week in Lagos. Banks ended the session up 61bps with most names ending the day close to their starting prices with the exception of GTB (+3.81%, N24.00) and UBA (-3.05%, N4.76). Consumers shed 15bps today although outside of NB (+29bps, N170.99) the sector was rather quiet. There was some mild activity in Dangcem (unch, N170.00) and Wapco (+62bps, N78.00).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A local special bargain for 284m ($5.7m) Dawn shares was the bulk of todays activity. In normal trading there was some trading in Delta (109.99c), Econet (65c) and Innscor (60c).
