Things slowed down in Gaborone today as turnover amounted to $181k with not much to report.
Another large local cross in SCAN (17.2m shares) drove proceedings as total value traded amounted to $22.9m. There was also a large local cross in ARM as 5.94m shares traded in the name. Locals dominated proceedings in EQBNK as 3.6m shares traded while there was some foreign participation in Safcom as 6.46m shares traded in the telco. Foreign demand continued to drive EABL (+3.1%) as 294k shares changed hands in the brewer.
A better day in Port Louis as turnover amounted to $1.21m thanks largely to MCBG (60k shares) while SBMH (4.81m shares) and NMH (4k shares) were very quiet.
A rather average day as turnover amounted to $22.1m with the likes of Zenith ($6.1m), NB ($2.28m), FBNH ($1.34m) and Access ($1.29m) driving proceedings. Another strong day in banking stocks with the Index gaining +6.36% with good performances in UBA (+9.88%), Zenith (+8.45%) and GTB (+4.97%) while the picture was pretty much the same across the entire sector. Consumers (+1.72%) also had a very solid day thanks to Dangote Sugar (+9.07%), Nestle (+5.00%) and Guinness (+5.00%). Cements were also strong with DangCem and WAPCO gaining +8.16% and +5.00% respectively.

A very active start to the week after the long weekend in Harare as total value traded amounted to $2.16m thanks to Delta ($1.21m) and Econet ($448k) while the market closed the day lower with the Industrial Index falling -0.20%.
