A strange day in Gaborone as nothing much happened except some action in a name that never trades; Shumba. In normal trading nothing happened except a small cross in BIHL (1150t).
Things slowed down in Nairobi today as turnover amounted to $8.3m with foreigners (58.7%) dominating proceedings. Foreign demand (98%) continues to drive EABL as the brewer gained +1.0% to close at KES 309.00 on 796k shares. Safcom continues to gain as the telco closed +0.4% on 8.61m shares thanks to foreign demand. There was once again foreign demand (80.5%) in EQBNK as 1.34m shares traded over the day.
Activity was once again heavily focused on MCBG (-37bps, Rs203.00) while Ciel (unch, Rs7.78) also saw some mild trading. SBMH closed unchanged at Rs1.03.
Another average day in Lagos as turnover amounted to $25.25m with some activity in the likes of NB ($7.20m), GTB ($3.15m), FBNH ($3.03m) and ETI ($1.35m). Banks closed the day lower with the Index falling -2.43% with some pressure on Zenith (-4.23%), FBNH (-3.79%) and GTB (-3.75%). Consumers fell again with the sector closing -1.17% lower thanks to Nestle (-4.99%), Dangote Sugar (-4.98%) and Dangote Flour (-4.98%).

Activity returned somewhat to Harare today although the bulk of the interest remains in Delta (113c). Delta accounted for 69% of the total trading while there was also mild activity in Innscor (60c), Econet (68c) and Seedco (95.5c).
