Absolutely nothing on the go in Gaborone today.
A rather active day in Nairobi as turnover increased to $14m with foreigners (70%) dominating sales as the Index fell -0.18%. Safcom fell -2.3% on 19.8m shares after releasing FY 2015 results with foreigners driving the name lower. KNCB (-2.5%) and EQBNK (-3.7%) also came under pressure from foreign selling on 5.56m shares and 3.66m shares respectively. Centum managed to gain +3.9% on local buying.
Some chunky action seen today which was mostly characterized by foreign selling in the banks. Despite this both banking giants closed up with MCBG rising by 50bps to Rs203.50 and SBMH up by 1.1% to Rs0.94.
Not much on the go today as turnover amounted to a boring $18.8m with some action in the likes of Unilever ($3.23m), GTB ($2.80m), Access ($2.34m) and Zenith ($1.74m). Banks closed the day higher with the Index gaining +1.39% thanks to ETI which gained a very impressive +10.19%. Consumers (-1.02%) closed lower with Guinness (-4.99%) and Nestle (-3.82%) dragging the sector lower.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Activity remains light in Harare. The only action worth noting took place in Delta (105c) and OkZim (11c).
