An extremely active day to kick-off the week in Gaborone as turnover amounted to $5.70m thanks to action in Turnstar (4.13m shares), FNBB (2.35m shares), Sefalana (723k shares) and Furnmart (4.59m shares).
A relatively dull day in Kenya with foreign activity skewed to the sell side. The bulk of today’s action took place in EABL (both sides foreign) while Safcom and KNCB were dominated by foreign selling and local buying. EABL and Safcom both closed marginally softer at KES300 and KES16.00 respectively while KNCB and EqBnk were both more stable.
A rather average day in Port Louis as turnover amounted to $1.72m with some action in NMH (617k shares) the most active counter. It was rather slow going in MCBG and SBMH as 32k shares and 126k shares traded in the names respectively.
As expected with both the US and UK on holiday today we saw yet another dull day on the Lagos bourse with general softness across the board. The banks fell by 68bps although the sector was dead outside of some mild activity in GTB (-17bps, N29.05), UBA (+1.17%, N5.19) and zenith (-1.12%, N22.00). Consumers also ended the day marginally in the red with the bulk of the action taking place in NB (+47bps, N154.00) and Nestle (-1.25%, N870.00). Elsewhere we saw some crosses in Dangcem (-51bps, N177.00) and Wapco (+44bps, N96.50).
