Letshego continued with its dominance in the market as the counter traded a total of 5.7m shares to close unchanged at 350t. FNBB was the other significant contributor- the stock traded a total of 125k shares to close at 382t.
KCB accounted for 42% of market activity as the counter closed up 0.9% to KES58. Safaricom recouped its previous losses by closing up 1.6% at KES16.35 on the back of revived demand. Other gainers included Co- op Bank (+3.4%, KES22.75), Diamond Trust (+0.4%, KES239) and ARM (+2.6%, KES79.50) whilst EABL closed down 1% at KES303
Turnover was mainly geared towards MCBG and SBM- accounted for 59% of total turnover. MCBG closed up 0.5% at Rs204 as 59k shares were exchanged in the name whilst SBM closed down 1% after trading a bulky 17.8m shares. NMH closed strong at Rs63.50 (+0.8%) after trading 140k shares.
Trades in GTB and Zenith Bank carried the day- counters contributed $5.1m and $6m towards turnover respectively. The Banking index closed up 1.17% on the back of gains in Zenith bank (+3.26%, N22.20) and GTB (+1.01%, N30) most banking names closed in the green with Diamond Bank (-1.54%, N4.48) and Skye Bank (-8.82%, N2.17) as the exceptions. The Consumer index closed up 0.27% due to gains in Flourmills (+3.43%, N36.20) and 7Up (+3.47%, N176). The market was generally quiet with most counters registering small trades.

African Sun accounted for the bulk of activity after a special bargain deal of 99.5m shares went through at 3c in the name- the counter close unchanged at 2.70c. Other significant contributors included Delta ($528k) and Mash ($368k).
