Botswana: DCI +0.08%, USD 9.9m
A large cross in Sefalana (local seller, foreign buyer) at 1170t was the main attraction today. There was also some activity in BIHL (1340t) while the rest of the market was quiet.
Kenya: NSE 20 -0.62%, USD 7.6m
It was a much more muted session today after yesterday's fireworks as foreign participation was vastly reduced. There was a large local cross in BATK at KES 738 (+3.2%). In normal trading we saw Safcom continue to bounce as it rose by 2.3% to KES 15.55 while EqBnk slipped by 50bps to KES 47.50. KNCB touched a 2015 low of KES 57.00 (-3.4%).
Mauritius: Semdex -0.35%, USD 1.28m
A soft day in Port Louis while volumes were rather light. The most action took place in SBMH which closed unchanged at Rs0.93. There was also some mild activity in Ciel (-2.7%, Rs7.10) and MCBG (-60bps, Rs202.50).
Nigeria: ASI -0.13%, USD 59.9m
An extremely active end to the month in Nigeria ahead of tomorrow's Presidential inauguration. Both local and foreign investors were involved as a number of names saw chunky crosses go through. Banks closed 61bps lower led by activity in UBA (+3.25%, N5.40), FBNH (+1.96%, N9.38), GTB (-52bps, N29.0538) and Zenith (-2.55%, N21.44). Consumers closed marginally in the red with the bulk of the action taking place in a number of crosses in Nestle ($27m changed hands in the name as it close down 1.16% at N850.00). There was also chunky action in DangCem (unch, N180) and Seplat (+90bps, N338). Please note that the market is closed tomorrow.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.49%, USD 783k
Zimbabwe remains dull as the general softness continues. There was mild activity in the likes of FBCH (8c), Delta (105.10c) and Innscor (60.01c) while the rest of the market was dead.
