Nothing exciting to report from Gaborone.
Once again the market was heavily dominated by Safcom (-30bps, KES19.95) as the telco once again accounted for for a large chunk (65%) of the total market turnover. There was also a cross in the normally illiquid Co-op Bank while the rest of the large caps were extremely quiet.
The index dipped marginally on reasonable volumes today. As always, the major trading activity went through in MCBG (unch, Rs214.00) and SBMH (-90bps, Rs6.90) while Air Mauritius (-1.3%, Rs15.00) also saw some decent action for a change.
Yet another uneventful day in Nigeria as volumes and interest in the market remain at all-time lows. The banks did tick higher by 15bps although outside of some small crosses in GTB (+99bps, N21.52) the sector was quiet. Consumers ended the day down 13bps although outside of an early cross in Intbrew (-4.10%, N18.70) there was absolutely nothing happening in the sector.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
The ZSE continues to run along its merry way with local demand still pushing most names higher, albeit most of the time on smallish volumes.
