The lack of interest continues in Gaborone.

Kenya: NSE 20 +0.01%, USD 19.8m

It was another very active day in Nairobi thanks to a late cross in Safcom (unch) as a total of 58.7m shares traded in the telco over the course of the day with foreigners completely dominating both sides. Banking stocks came under pressure today as KNCB and EQBNK closed -4.5% and -1.8% lower respectively. Foreign selling drove KNCB lower while locals accounted for most of the selling in EQBNK. EABL continued to fall as the brewer closed -2.8% lower on 391k shares.

Mauritius: Semdex +0.16%, USD 4.4m

A very impressive day from an activity point of view as GreenBay accounted for 70.1% of turnover with 29.8m shares changing hands in the name. There was also some decent activity in MCBG and SBMH as 154k shares and 15.9m shares traded in the names respectively.

Nigeria: ASI +2.97%, USD 6.7m

Back to normal in Lagos with some small activity in NB ($2m) and Nestle ($1.8m) the only names breaking the $1m turnover mark. The banking sector managed to close +0.35% higher with GTB changing the day unchanged, despite going ex-div. Consumers (+0.40%) also closed in positive territory thanks to NB as the brewer closed the day +0.70% higher. Market heavyweight DangCem had a good showing in terms of performance and closed the day +8.59% higher.

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.38%, USD 511k

A small bit of activity in Simbisa ($245k) and Innscor ($145k) the only names worth mentioning on another dull day in Harare.
