Some solid action in Letshego finally got the market going in Gaborone as 8.8m shares changed hands in the name.
Yet another quiet session on the Kenyan bourse. There were only really 2 stocks that traded any modicum of volume today. These were KNCB (-1.9%, KES26.00) and Safcom (+80bps, KES19.15). The rest of the market was extremely quiet.
A very dull day in Port Louis in the absence of any action in MCBG.
A late cross in Unilever (-1.11%, N45.50) was the highlight on yet another dull and uneventful day in Lagos. Outside of this cross the market was rather rudderless except for Dangcem (+1.83%, N183.00) which drove the market direction. However, please note that this was on small volumes. Banks (+13bps) and consumers (-7bps) were both generally dull. Highlights in the banks was GTB (-37bps, N27.00) while NB (-1bp, N143.35) was the highlight in the consumers outside of Unilever. In economic news the MPC left interest rates unchanged at 14% as expected.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A much better day in Harare thanks to some action in Delta ($912k) while the rest of the market remains dead quiet.
