A very impressive day in Gaborone thanks to Letshego as 36.7m shares changed hands in the name while the rest of the market was dead quiet.
A mammoth day in Nairobi thanks to a number of extremely large foreign crosses. The major contributor to this was Safcom which closed up 30bps at KES19.40 on more than $20m of trades. Also extremely active was EqBnk (+1.9%, KES26.50) as more than $4.4m changed hands in the name. EABL (+1.9%, KES275.00) also saw some decent action while the rest of the market was pretty dull.
A rather average day in Port Louis from an activity point of view with MCBG the only name worth mentioning yet again as 107k shares traded in the heavyweight.
The Nigerian bourse showed some signs of life today with a number of decent crosses going through. However, there is still no clear direction in the index. Banks slipped marginally by 23bps with the bulk of the action once again in GTB (-3.51%, N25.83) and Zenith (+5.27%, N15.79). Consumers gained a solid 57bps with both Nestle (unch, N825.01) and NB (+1.03%, N143.50) witnessing some nice crosses.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another decent day in Harare, relatively speaking, with some activity in Delta ($372k) and CBZ ($273k) driving proceedings.
