Another day with nothing to report from Gaborone.
A very active day to end the week in Nairobi, but this should however be taken with a pinch of salt as a large foreign cross in BATK (+3.4%) accounted for 69.9% of turnover with 969k shares changing hands in the name. There was also some decent activity in Safcom as 11.5m shares changed hands with the telco gaining +0.8% on foreign demand. Local demand drove KNCB +1.6% higher as 2m shares traded on the day.
An average day from a turnover point of view to end the week in Port Louis with SBMH and MCBG driving proceedings as 11.6m shares and 25k shares changing hands in the names respectively.
From bad to worse in Lagos from an activity point of view with IntBrew ($1.1m) the only name to break the $1m turnover mark. Banking stocks took some strian with the sector closing -2.72% lower with weakness in GTB (-3.22%) and Zenith (-1.96%). Consumers (-0.54%) closed slightly lower on very thin volume.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another underwhelming day in Harare to end the week with CBZ ($83k) and Innscor ($78k) the only names worth mentioning.
