Some small activity in BTCL (1m shares) the only name worth mentioning on a dull day in Gaborone.
A rather underwhelming start to the week in Nairobi with Safcom (-0.5%) driving proceedings from an activity point of view as 9.8m shares change hands with a small bit of profit taking in the telco. EABL was the only other name out of the heavyweights that saw some activity as 357k shares traded in the brewer. There was a small bit of action in KenGen as local sellers pushed the name -1.5% lower on 4.8m shares.
A quiet start to the week. As usual, trading volumes were propped up by MCBG as the banking group closed up 10bps at Rs209.25.
Another woefully quiet day in Lagos. The highlight of the day was a cross in 7Up (-58bps, N119.50). However, the complete and utter lack of interest in the bourse permeated throughout the session. Banks (+1.25%) did creep higher albeit on non-existent volumes while consumers (-1.12%) slipped somewhat.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
