Nothing to report from Gaborone.
Another quiet day in Nairobi with the index slipping yet further on the back of a total lack of interest. Compounding this was a breakdown in the ATS system which meant that all local traders had to go to the NSE floor to trade which is always disruptive. The only real activity today took place in EABL (-1.78%, KES 221.00) and Safcom (-3.94%, KES 17.05).
Things slowed down in Port Louis today with most of the action centered on SBMH as 2.4m shares changed hands in the name while 49k shares traded in MCBG.
The market once again drifts along with no clear direction while volumes remain woefully low. The main action took place in Zenith with one extremely aggressive seller pushing the name down 4.76% to N14.00 on good volume. This was the outlier as the sector closed down 1.18%. The consumers shed 1.27% today with only Guinness (-4.96%, N62.11) seeing any decent trades.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Not the worst day in Harare, relatively speaking, thanks to some activity in Econet ($432k) and Delta ($133k).
