Another decent day in Gaborone thanks to a cross in Letshego as 4.8m shares traded while the rest of the market was quiet.
A strong day in Nairobi although this must be taken with a pinch of salt as volumes were absolutely atrocious. Once again the lion’s share of trading turnover went through in Safcom with well over 50% of total turnover going through in the name. The telco gained 1.4% to KES18.35. There was 1 block in KNRE (local buyer, foreign seller) while the rest of the rest was for all intents and purposes dead.
An average day in Port Louis with MCBG accounting for the Lion's share of turnover as 66k shares changed hands in the name, while there was sporadic activity in a few other names.
Another quiet day in Nigeria with just some late crossing in GTB worth noting. The Banking sector dipped by 4bps with GTB (+1.13%, N26.80) accounting for almost 40% of the total market turnover. Consumers rose by 23bps although the sector was deathly quiet. The rest of the market was also dull as the market still cannot find any catalysts.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Some small activity in Econet ($313k) the only name worth mentioning.
