Nothing to report.
A quiet end to the week in Nairobi while we saw the NSE 20 try its best to inch higher. The most active stock today was the normally illiquid KenolKobil after the name saw a cross go through. In normal trading Safcom was yet again dominant with the telco edging up by a further 2.3% to close at KES17.95. The only other stock to see a modicum of trading was KNCB which closed at KES30.00 (+1.7%).
The index ticked higher mostly thanks to IBL which rose by 2.4% to Rs37.90 albeit on small volumes. Activity was yet again dominated by the banks with MCBG and SBMH both closing unchanged at Rs225.00 and Rs7.00 respectively.
Yet another dull end to yet another dull week in Nigeria. Today’s action was heavily focused on the Banks (+16bps) with GTB (+1.94%, N26.30) and Zenith Bank (-2.89%, N14.13) heavily dominating the activity charts thanks to a number of crosses. The Consumers sector dripped lower by 1.53% on tiny volumes while the rest of the market was also extremely uneventful.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another decent day in Harare with action focused on the likes of Delta (86c) and Seedco (93.50c).
