Nothing to report from Gaborone.
An impressive start to the week on the activity front in Nairobi thanks to some chunky crossing action in Safcom ($8.5m) as foreigners dominated both sides of the name. The telco's (+2.7%) latest rally continued today after investors shrugged concerns with regards to the governments comments about MPESA. There was also some decent activity in KNCB ($1.1m) as the bank continued to gain after posting FY 2016 results last week, closing the day +1.7% higher. EABL ($1.1m) finally sprung to life thanks to foreign participation. EQBNK (+7.4%) had a very strong day, on tiny volume though.
A rather dull start to the week in Mauritius. The main action didn’t happen in MCBG for a change with NMH (unch, Rs21.00) dominating volumes today.
A completely woeful start to the week in Lagos with not a single name breaking the $1m turnover mark. Banking stocks closed the day -1.02% with Zenith (-10.01%) being the major drag on the sector after going ex-div today. Consumers closed +0.14% higher on tiny volume.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another day of nothingness in Harare. The most excitement was in EcoLaf (2.25c).
