A better day in Gaborone thanks to some action in Letshego as 4.51m shares traded in the name while the rest of the market was quiet.
Some decent foreign activity drove the Nairobi bourse today although most names were generally soft. The large cap names that bucked this trend though were Safcom (+70bps, KES14.45) and EABL (+1.8%, KES 279). The banks were soft with KNCB falling by 2.5% to KES38.75 while Equity Bank dropped by 60bps to KES41.50. We also saw some foreign crossing in Barclays Bank (-40bps, KES12.65).
Not much on the go in Port Louis after the long weekend as turnover amounted to $920k with some action in MCBG (64k shares) while SBMH and NMH were rather quiet.
Nigeria continues to trade at all-time lows (in terms of activity) in the absence of any decent crosses. Banks fell by 1.76% as the lack of interest in the sector remains vivid while consumers closed down marginally by 24bps.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Crosses in DZL ($273k) and SeedCo ($192k) the only names worth mentioning on an otherwise quiet day yet again.
