Nothing to report from Gaborone today.
A mammoth day in Nairobi thanks to some really chunky trades in the large cap names while foreign investors remain the bulk of activity. The main crosses went through late in the day in Equity Bank with the banking group closing unchanged at KES41.75). EABL also saw some good action (unch, KES275) while KNCB rose by 1.9% to KES40.50. Safcom released better-than-expected 2016 H1 results before the session which pushed the telco up by 4.5% to KES14.95. There was also some action in Barclays (+1.2%, KES12.65).
Another solid enough day from an activity point of view in port Louis as turnover amounted to $1.62m thanks mostly to NMH as 1.32m shares changed hands in the name while there was some activity in IBL (140k shares) and MCBG (49k shares).
Another uneventful day in Lagos except for a large off-market cross in Seplat at N208.25 with what appears to be international on both sides. Banks hardly moved today with the main action taking place in a couple of chunky crosses in Zenith (-1.07%, N17.50). Similarly, consumers were largely unchanged although the sector was painfully quiet. There was some decent crossing in the cements with DangCem closing unchanged at N163.00 while Wapco fell by 1.04% to N95.00.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A much better day in Harare as turnover increased to a respectable $1m thanks to crosses in CBZ ($336k), Econet ($280k) and DZL ($276k).
