Botswana: DSE -0.31%, USD 1.09m

A decent day in Botswana with some action seen in Choppies (405t), Primetime (249t) and Sefalana (920t).

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.80%, USD 6.9m

Things slowed down a bit in Nairobi as turnover amounted to $6.9m with activity pretty evenly split between foreigners and locals. Foreign demand continued in EABL as 650k shares traded in the brewer. There was another large cross in UCSP as 11.91m shares traded in the name. Not much on the go in Safcom as the telco reported H1 2015 earnings after the close. The two major banking stocks came under pressure as EQBNK and KNCB fell -1.5% and -0.9% respectively. KNCB will be reporting Q3 2014 results tomorrow.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.32%, USD 1.91m

Another fairly reasonable day in Port Louis today in terms of activity although the index was soft across the board. MCBG closed down by 36bps at Rs207.75 while SBMH closed down 96bps at Rs1.03.

Nigeria: ASI -1.61%, USD 25.19m

A better day in Lagos as turnover amounted to $25.19m. There was some action in the likes of GTB ($5.05m), NB ($2.64m), Zenith ($2.15m), FBNH ($1.84m) and 7UP ($1.57m). Banking stocks came under pressure as the Index fell -0.93% with weakness in Zenith (-2.70%), FBNH (-2.48%) and ETI (-1.58%). The slide in consumer stocks continued as the Index fell -1.93% with PZ Cussons (-4.97%), Glaxo (-4.91%), NB (-3.44%) and 7UP (-3.13%) dragging the sector lower. Cements also fell with WAPCO and DangCem closing -5.00% and 1.70% lower respectively.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.15%, USD 534k

Zimbabwe remains disastrous in terms of market activity. Delta didnt trade a single stock yet again while the only activity seemed to be in Econet which closed at 69c and was almost the entire market.
