Kenya: NSE 20 -0.54%, USD 1.4m

An absolutely dire start to the week from an activity point of view with foreigners all but absent as turnover amounted to $1.4m. The little foreign trading that took place was in the likes of KNCB (-0.9%) and Safcom (+0.4%) as 399k shares and 1.22m shares traded in the names respectively.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.15%, USD 2.26m

Another fairly decent day in terms of activity. MCBG finally rose after last weeks softness albeit by only 25bps to Rs203.50. SBMH closed unchanged at Rs1.04.

Nigeria: ASI +0.30%, USD 13.6m

A very dull start to the week in Lagos as turnover amounted to $13.6m. There was some activity in the likes of Zenith ($2.19m), NB ($1.84m), Oando ($1.27m) and GTB ($1.17m). Banks closed slightly higher with the Index gaining +0.30% with FBNH (+2.56%) the main catalyst. Consumers (+0.84%) also closed on the front foot with good gains in PZ Cussons (+4.56%), GSK (+1.96%) and NB (+1.75%).

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.03%, USD 1.94m

Some decent action in Harare for a change. The bulk of the trading took place in Delta (113c) followed by mild activity in Econet (69c) and CBZ (13c).
