Nothing much to write home about in Gaborone with just tiny activity in Choppies (405t), Turnstar (201t), WIL (310t) and Barclays (345t) taking place.
Not a bad day in Nairobi as turnover amounted to $7.3m with activity once again pretty much evenly split between locals and foreigners. Safcom was the most active counter as 14.61m shares traded in the name after releasing H1 2015 results after the close yesterday. The market was seemingly impressed with the results as the counter gained +4.1%. KNCB were releasing Q3 2014 numbers at the time of writing. EQBNK came under pressure on the back of foreign selling as the name fell -2.0% on 3.42m shares. Foreigners dominated proceedings in EABL as the brewer gained +0.7% on 185k shares.
Another active day in Mauritius. The most active names were MCBG (-12bps, Rs207.50), SBMH (unch, Rs1.03) and Ciel (+26bps, Rs34.50).
Another average day from an activity point of view in Lagos as turnover amounted to $24.3m. There was some activity in the likes of GTB ($6.96m), NB ($2.94m), FBNH (2.83m), Zenith ($1.83m) and ETI ($1.08m). The blood bath continued across the board as the ASI fell -2.14% with no respite in sight. Banks were weak as the Index fell -2.13% thanks to UBA (-5.67%), Access (-4.94%), FBNH (-4.90%) and Zenith (-3.05%). Consumers were also hammered with the Index falling -3.64% thanks to Dangote Sugar (-9.62%) and 7UP (9.03%), with the theme continuing across the sector in general. The slide in WAPCO continued with the name falling -9.74%.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another dull day in Harare. Delta finally traded at least 1 shares and was in fact the most active stock, closing at 116c. Econet also traded a few shares and closed at 69c.
