From bad to worse in Gaborone as turnover amounted to a paltry $48k.
A mammoth cross in Safcom helped boost activity today as a total of 110m shares traded in the telco with the name closing -0.4% lower on the day as foreigners dominated activity in the counter. Total value traded increased to a very impressive $21.5m. Elsewhere the rest of the market was rather quiet as 1.06m shares traded in EQBNK while 156k shares traded in EABL. Centum released H1 2015 results with the name closing +1.6% higher.
Things slowed down in Port Louis but it was still a decent day with turnover amounting to $1.69m. MCBG (140k shares) dominated proceedings while there was some decent activity in Phoenix Investment Company (94k shares).
Activity continued to increase today as turnover amounted to an average $23.7m. Some crossing action in the likes of Nestle ($3.47m), GTB ($3.38m), FBNH ($3.29m), DangCem ($2.69m) and WAPCO ($1.75m) drove proceedings. Banks closed lower again with the Index falling -0.46% with some weakness in UBA (-2.93%) and ETI (-1.16%). Consumers (-3.10%) continue to struggle as Flour Mills (-5.49%), Nestle (-5.02%), Cadbury (-5.00%) and NB (-3.11%) dragged the sector lower. Cements were also weak with Ashaka (-5.00%), DangCem (-2.81%) and WAPCO (-1.28%) all coming under pressure.

A much better day in Harare as turnover amounted to $1.94m thanks to some activity in CBZ ($1.15m), NatFoods ($292k) and PPC ($220k) while the market continued to fall with the Industrial Index closing -1.45% lower.
