Activity continues to impress in Gaborone as turnover amounted to $6.35m with chunky crosses in Letshego (9.8m shares), Imara (7.31m shares) and Sefalana (1.14m shares).
An extremely active day in Nairobi as turnover amounted to a very impressive $19m as foreigners (57.8%) dominated proceedings. There were a few large crosses in Safcom as 23.4m shares traded with the telco closing -0.3% lower. Both banking giants EQBNK and KNCB closed the day unchanged on 7.47m shares and 3.91m shares respectively as foreigners dominated both sides of both names. Centum closed the day -0.8% lower as locals dominated sales on 3.57m shares.
Another very impressive day in Port Louis from an activity point of view as turnover increased to $6.9m with large crosses in MCBG (290k shares) and NMH (823k shares) driving proceedings while SBMH was relatively quite as 8.7m shares changed hands.
A very impressive day in Lagos after the announcement that the country has a new president with turnover amounting to an outstanding $55m. A number of the big names were very active but the standouts were GTB ($11.75m), FBNH ($9.26m), Zenith ($5.78m), Access ($4.18m) and NB ($4.07m). Banking stocks were on fire with the sector gaining +8.88% with most of the big names closing limit up. Consumers were also very impressive as the Index gained +7.24% with a number of names also limit up at the close.

The index took a big hit today in Harare thanks to Delta which closed at 103.5c. Delta was also the only stock that traded.
