The market remains dead.
Safcom (+2.7%, KES17.20), KCB (-1.5%, KES64.00), EABL (-0.3%, KES334) and Equity bank (+2.2%, KES47.00) were the most actively traded counters. Safcom edged up to KES17.50 during the session on the back of net buying in the name while KCBs retreat was mainly caused by local selling pressure. Total turnover increased by 23.7% on the back of foreign selling.
Indices closed the week in the red with market turnover geared towards SBM (-2.2%, Rs0.91), MCB (-0.3%, Rs199.00) and NMH (unch, Rs61). A total of 25.4m, 19.8k and 62.2k shares were exchanged in the names respectively.
Another slow day in Lagos as the market was generally quiet. Crosses were recorded in Intbrew, FBNH and UACN while two way flows were posted in the likes of Zenith Bank, NB and GTB. The banking index closed up 1.21% on the back of trades in FBNH (+3.25%, N9.84), GTB (+0.87%, N28.85) and Zenith Bank (+2.27%, N23). The consumer sector managed to get some respite and closed the day higher by 0.37% buoyed by trades in NB (+1.05%, N161.29) and Intbrew (-1.38%, N20.71)

Activity in the market remains subdued as turnover amounted to a paltry $929k. Delta ($213k) and Econet ($195k) and Innscor ($323k) were the most active stocks trading a total of 203k, 399k and 567k respectively.
