Nothing to report from Gaborone.
Another active day in Nairobi while foreign participants remain skewed to the sell side. The most active names were KNCB (unch, KES60.50), Safcom (-2.4%, KES16.60) and BRIT (-3.7%, KES26.00). There was also some mild action in Eqbnk (-1.9%, KES51.00), KenolKobil (-2.7%, KES9.00) and EABL (+1.6%, KES321.00).
Once again some chunky action in MCBG (+30bps, Rs197.50) driving the market. Outside of this name the market was decidedly quiet.
Another extremely active day in Lagos. The day started on the front foot although sellers did come in as the day progressed. Banks still gained a solid 7.02% with some massive volumes going through in the likes of GTB (+10.20%, N31.88) and Zenith (+8.35%, N25.05). Consumers were more circumspect although still gained 3.70% mostly thanks to Nestle (+5%, N936.60) and NB (+5%, N166.25). NB also witnessed some chunky crossing. There were good volumes in names such as Dangcem (+3.17%, N182.00), Wapco (+42bps, N93.00), UACN (+84bps, N36.02) and Oando (+10.14%, N17.60).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Interest in the ZSE remains apathetic with the only action on the day a small cross in African Sun.
