Kenya: NSE 20 -0.28%, USD 7.3m

The NSE eased off 14.32 points to settle at 5,128.03 points, with BATK (-9.89%, KES720) and Centum (+5.79%, KES59.50) being the major laggards. The top movers of the day included Safcom (+2.19%, KES16.35), KNCB (+4.07%, KES61.50) and KNOC (-1.11%, KES8.90) as foreigners dominated both sides of the names.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.001%, USD 4.14m

Most indices closed in the red as SBM continued its rally (accounting 64.5% of total market turnover). The latter traded a total of 103.3m shares closing up 1.1% at Rs0.96 while its banking counterpart, MCBG closed flat at Rs198.00 on the back of 199k shares traded.

Nigeria: ASI +1.01%, USD 20.9m

Tier 1 banking names recovered well today due to increased demand. The sector closed up by +1.04% with most activity taking place in the likes of FBNH (+3.49%, N9.50), GTB (+1.33%, N27.51) and Zenith Bank (+1.72%, N23). Consumers closed up by 2.10% buoyed by trades in Nestle (+5%, N1050.00) and NB (+2.62%, N155.98).

Zimbabwe: Industrials -0.66%, USD 1.6m

Blue chip counters registered some decent volumes today. Afdis (unch, 50c), Delta (+0.04%, 102c) and Econet (unch, 50c) were the most active names accounting for over 70% of total value traded. The stocks traded a total of 539k, 127k and 702k shares respectively.
