Outside of some decent trades in Letshego (266t) the Botswana bourse was extremely quiet.
A painfully quiet start to the week with foreign investors particularly absent. Local investors dominated proceedings in names such as Safcom (KES14.05) and Equity Bank (KES49.75). There was some foreign selling in TCL (KES18.00) but the day itself was uneventful.
A quiet day in Port Louis with general softness across the board. MCBG closed down 13bps at Rs197.75 while SBMH closed unchanged at Rs1.02. .
The Lagos bourse began the year on the back foot. There were a number of sizeable crosses on the open and the session then ambled along slowly while some more crosses took place later in the session. Banks closed down 1.29% with most names closing in the red. There was chunky activity in the likes of ETI (-2.05%, N18.20), GTB (unch, N25.18) and Zenith (-2.23%, N18.00). Consumers shed 1.15% for the day with activity led by Nestle (-1.60%, N995.60) and NB -1.39%, N163.00). There was also some decent trading in DangCem (-5%, N190.00) and Oando (+1.39%, N17.50).

Almost all the action took place in Delta as the brewer closed at 102c. Outside of this nothing happened.
