Some activity returned to the market as Turnstar accounted 91% of total turnover.
Kenya: NSE 20 +0.25%, USD 4.6m
Another sluggish day in Nairobi as turnover amounted to $4.6m with locals dominating proceedings. Foreign demand drove EQBNK 2.0% higher as 1.12m shares changed hands in the name. A cross in EABL boosted activity in the brewer with the name gaining +1.0% on 179k shares thanks to foreign demand. Not much on the go in Safcom and KNCB as 3.67m shares and 667k shares traded respectively.
Mauritius: Semdex -0.39%, USD 1.54m
The notable movers of the day were MCBG, Policy and Rogers. MCBG closed flat at RS198.00 after reaching a high of Rs199.00. The counter traded a total of 124k shares while its banking counterpart, SBM closed unchanged at Rs1.00, after registering large volumes trough out the trading session (1.3m shares traded). PBL found itself amongst the laggers, reaching a low of Rs265 to close firm at Rs269.50 with a total of 6.6k shares traded.
Nigeria: ASI -0.24%, USD 12.9m
An extremely dull day in Lagos with value traded amounting to a paltry $12.9m with nothing much to report. There was some activity in GTB (1.68m), UACN ($1.35m), NB ($1.23m) and FBNH ($1.11m). Banks fell for a second day as the Index closed -1.34% lower thanks to UBA (-4.94%), GTB (-1.81%) and Zenith (-1.64%). Consumers (-0.33%) also closed lower with IntBrew (-4.98%) and Guinness (-2.29%) weighing on the sector.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.64%, USD 1.95m
Econet was the hero of the day, as the stock had a turnover of USD 1.08m, closing at 54c on a total of 2,005,168 shares traded. The rest of the counters registered paltry volumes.
