Choppies is the only counter that dominated proceedings today, with a daily turnover of USD 23K
Another dull day in Nairobi with foreign activity roughly 50% of the total meager turnover. Activity was led by Safcom (unch, KES13.90) and Equity Bank (unch, KES49.50) while some local action in BATK (+20bps, KES900) was also evident.
Another quiet day in Port Louis as most of the indices closed in the red. MCBG is slowly fighting back as it managed to recoup 25cts to close at Rs197, while SBM remained steady at Rs1.01. The big loser of the day was SODIA, which tumbled by 11.5% to close at 23cts.
Another brutal day on the NSE as the selling continued. Banks lost a disappointing 7.47% with every name in the sector closing in the red. Volumes were led by ETI (-5%, N17.10), GTB (-9.7%, N21.96) and Zenith (-9.71%, N15.44). Consumers fell by 3.01% with action heavily centered on NB (-5%, N139.82) and PZ (+5.24%, N26.50). The Oil sector had mixed performance although decent volume in Oando (-5.56%, N16.15), Seplat (-5%, N317.24) and Forte Oil (+3%, N231.88).

The Harare bourse has seen better days, as activity remains generally low. Econet traded a meager 2000 shares to close at 60.01c, while the likes of BATZ, Delta and Old Mutual took over as the front runners. Delta closed unchanged at 102c and traded a total of 41,489 shares.
