Letshego made up the bulk of the volume, with 911,565 shares traded (USD 247K).
A rather sub par day in Nairobi as turnover fell to $4.6m with foreigners dominating proceedings. Foreign selling put pressure on Safcom as the telco fell -1.7% on 9.21m shares. Foreigners dominated both sides of EQBNK as the name managed to gain +1.0%. KNCB on the other hand came under some foreign selling pressure and closed the day -1.7% lower.
MCBG and NMH accounted for 70% of the total value traded. MCBG traded a total of 182.5k shares to close at Rs195 after hitting a high of Rs196.75. NMH fell by 1.3% after a couple of crosses went through at a 52 week low price of Rs75.
Another volatile day in Lagos with the index eventually closing up 25bps although volumes remain thin. Banks were up for most of the day yet the sector ended the day down 1.35% with GTB (-4.26%, N17.52) spending most of the day at limit down until it recovered into the close. GTB was extremely active ($5.6m) while there was also decent activity in FBNH (+1.77%, N7.46) and Zenith (+64bps, N15.70). Consumers finally showed some strength as the sector gained 80bps thanks to outperformance in the likes of NB (+1.45%, N140.00), Guinness (+3.13%, N132.00) and Nestle (+19bps, N800.00). Dangcem had an active day and closed up 1.05% at N152.68 while Oando witnessed big activity as it closed down 2% at N16.16.

Activity returned to the market as DZL, Delta and Seedco drove proceedings. Two crosses accounted for the bulk of the trades in DZL, with a total of 5,109,343 shares traded, closing at 9c. Delta closed at 109c (+1.8%) on a volume of 183,641 shares, while Seedco closed at 100c(+2.6%) on a volume of 111,699 shares traded.
