A quiet day in Gaborone with nothing worth mentioning.
Activity continued to underwhelm in Nairobi today with Safcom (-1.6%) once again leading the charge as 14.3m shares changed hands in the telco. There was also some activity in EABL (-0.4%) with 512k shares traded in the brewer. EQBNK (-2.7%) continued to come under pressure with local investors driving the name lower.
A better day in Poort Louis, but still nothing to write home about with MCBG the only name worth mentioning as 69k shares changed hands. On the economic front, tourist arrivals for 2016 increased +10.8% to 1,275,227.
Another dull day in Nigeria as 2017 looks set to continue where 2016 left off. Banks (-2.81%) gave back some of yesterday’s gains with volumes in the sector generally lackluster. Consumers (-41bps) got dragged lower as well with volumes also dire across the board.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Small crosses in Old Mutual ($351k) and Delta ($233k) drove proceedings on a quiet day in Harare.
