A massive cross in Imara on the venture capital board helped boost activity as 35.9m shares changed hands in the name. Elsewhere, there was some small activity in Turnstar (1.2m shares) while the rest of the market was dead quiet.
Finally some life on the Kenyan market as chunky crosses (foreign-foreign) in both Safcom and EABL spiced up proceedings. Safcom accounted for more than half the total turnover with the telco finally rising by 60bps to KES 18.05. EABL closed unchanged at KES 220.00. The rest of the market was once again extremely dull.
MCBG as per usual was the only shining light in terms of activity as 56k shares changed hands in the name while there was sporadic activity in some of the heavyweight stocks, but nothing worth noting.
Another day of nothingness as interest in the bourse continues to drift along with absolutely no direction. Banks slipped by a mere 10bps with nothing really trading except for some mild action in Zenith (-19bps, N15.80). Consumers also dropped (19bps) but the sector was incredibly dry.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A slow day in Harare with Innscor ($240k) and Delta ($126k) driving proceedings.
