Some small activity in the likes of Sefalana, FNBB and Turnstar drove proceedings on an average day.
An absolutely dire day in Nairobi with no activity in any of the big names worth noting. EABL (-0.5%) continued to fall ahead of results due out on Friday.
Another rather decent day in Port Louis from an activity point of view thanks finally to another name other than MCBG with some action in LUX driving proceedings as 386k shares changed hands. There was however once again some decent activity in MCBG as 97k shares traded.
Back to normal in Lagos as Presco ($3.3m) once again dominated proceedings from an activity point of view while there was also some activity in the usually illiquid Okomu ($1m). Banking stocks closed the day flat after the Central Bank kept the key interest rate unchanged at 14% yesterday, with no volume in any names worth noting. Consumers (+0.04%) closed slightly higher on low volume.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
The lack of interest in the ZSE continues as the index retreated by more than 1% on paltry volumes.
