Another quiet day in Gaborone.
Not the worst day to end the week from an activity point of view in Nairobi with some action in EABL (-0.4%) driving proceedings as 1.4m shares change hands in the brewer with foreign sellers pushing the name lower. Safcom (unch) was once again rather active with 10.7m shares traded on the day. Nothing much to report on the two major banking stocks.
Another satisfactory day on the activity front in Port Louis thanks once again to MCBG as 124k shares changed hands in the name while the was also some decent activity in Ciel as 4.3m shares traded.
Much of the same to end the week in Lagos with some action in the usually illiquid Presco ($1.4m) dominating proceedings, while the rest of the market was very quiet. Banking stocks managed to close slightly higher with the sector gaining +0.16% thanks to GTB (+0.25%) and Zenith (+1.01%). Consumers (+0.21%) also closed in positive territory on very low volume.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Nothing to report from Harare.
