Nothing to report from Gaborone.
Another slow start to the week in Nairobi with some activity in EQBNK (-4.1%) as the name closed lower on foreign selling with 5.3m shares changing hands. KNCB (-3.1%) also closed in negative territory on local selling with 4.4m shares traded. Elsewhere, Safcom and EABL were dead quiet. The Kenyan Central Bank kept the benchmark rate unchanged at 10%.
The index inched higher on quiet turnover. The bulk of today’s action traded in MCBG (+50bps, Rs222.00) and Ciel (unch, Rs6.30).
A dire day to start the trading week in Lagos with a cross in Guinness ($941k) the only name worth mentioning. Banking stocks closed the day -1.15% lower on tiny volume while consumers inched up by +0.13%.

The index continues to soften with volumes yet again generally muted. The only stock to trade today was OML which closed at 351c.
