Some action today highlighted by crosses in Choppies (420t) and Sefalana (1335t).
Another relatively active day in Nairobi as EABL once again dominated proceedings. The brewer continued to gain and closed +1.9% on foreign interest as 1.03m shares changed hands. Safcom (-2.7%) ended lower on foreign selling after yesterday's good run with 11.7m shares traded on the day. The two major banking stocks ended mixed with KNCB gaining +1.3% while EQBNK closed the day -0.6% lower.
The Semdex ended the day slightly in the red despite MCBG continuing to rise (+20bps, Rs209.50). The only volume took place in MCBG with the rest of the market extremely dull.
It was once again all about Wema Bank today as another $2bn shares crossed in the market with total value traded in the name amounting to $11.8m. The rest of the market was extremely quiet with only Forte Oil ($1.05m) breaking the $1m mark. Banks managed to close the day higher with the sector gaining +1.07% thanks to ETI (+3.27%) and GTB (+2.32%). Consumer (-1.53%) closed the day lower with pressure on 7UP (-5.00%) and Nestle (-5.00%).

Finally a respite for the bruised and battered ZSE as the index finally gained some ground. The main action was in Delta (52.16c) and Innscor (19.75c).
