A reasonable day in Gaborone thanks to some action in the likes of Choppies (410t), Stanchart (1090t) and Sechaba (2900t).
Not much on the go in Nairobi today as foreigners were all but absent from the market as local investors accounted for 88.4% of activity. A local cross in NIC accounted for the bulk of today's trade with 4.1m shares changing hands in the name. There was a small bit of activity in KNCB as 922k shares traded while the rest of the heavyweights were extremely quiet.
A rather uneventful day in Port Louis as the index just dripped marginally lower. Action took place mostly in MCBG (-20bps, Rs208.25), SBMH (unch, Rs0.68) and PBL (-2.4%, Rs361.00).
A better start to the week than what we have become accustomed to of late with a large cross in Zenith ($8.1m) driving proceedings. There was also a small bit of activity in GTB ($1.9m), Nestle ($1.2m) and NB ($1m). DangCem continued it's strong run and closed the day +3.75% higher. Banks closed the day lower with the sector falling -0.97% thanks to losses in Zenith (-4.92%) and FBNH (-4.07%). Some weakness in IntBrew (-4.97%) and Nestle (-3.60%) dragged the consumer sector -1.37% lower.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another active day today but this was all thanks to Delta which finally came alive. The brewer closed at 52.29c while the rest of the market was quiet.
