Not much on the go in Gaborone with some small activity in Turnstar (374k shares) the only name worth mentioning.
Another dull day in Nairobi with not even $5m changing hands. However, there was some mild action in the likes of Safcom (-30bps, KES15.70), EABL (+70bps, KES281.00) and KNCB (unch, KES39.75). The rest of the market was exceptionally quiet.
A few massive crosses in NMH helped boost activity as a total of 35.8m shares changed hands in the hotelier. We were told that both the buyers and the sellers were local, but cannot verify this. Eslewhere, there was some activity in MCBG as 38k shares traded.
Another generally apathetic day before a couple of late crosses livened up the day. The bulk of the action took place in GTB with more than $8m changing hands in the bank. Zenith Bank also saw some decent trading with the banks closing the day up 22bps. Consumers fell by 63bps on the day, most of this was thanks to NB (-1.20%, N96.03) and Nestle (-45bps, N667.00). However, the biggest drag on the index was market heavyweight Dangcem which fell by 3.94% to N146.00 albeit on tiny volumes.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
The ZSE continues to freefall as it shed a further 59bps today. Activity was focused mostly on Delta (52c) and OKZ (3.5c).
