Another decent day in Gaborone from an activity point of view thanks to some action in Letshego (3.2m shares) and FNBB (2m shares) while the rest of the market was rather quiet.
The Kenyan market rose today although take this with a pinch of salt as the rise was on the back of tiny volumes. There really was nothing exciting to write home about with foreign activity also very muted.
A much better day in Port Louis thanks to some foreign action in the usually illiquid Green Flash Properties as 15.2m shares changed hands in the name. Elsewhere, there was a little bit of activity in MCBG (48k shares) and LUX (82k shares).
Another woeful day in Lagos as the market continues to fall on the back of thin volumes as the lack of interest, particularly from foreign investors, permeates across the board. The banks fell by 1.0% with the bulk of the action going through in FBNH (-2.94%, N3.63) and GTB (unch, N16.70). The consumers fared somewhat better as the sector rose by 44bps mostly thanks to NB (+1.06%, N100.05). The cements had a mixed day with Dangcem losing 4.88%to N133.00 while Wapco closed up the maximum at N84.52.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Some small activity in Delta ($335k) the only name worth mentioning on another quiet day in Harare.
