A better day in Gaborone as turnover increased to $223k thanks to Letshego (220k shares) and Stancart (51k shares).
The main action in Nairobi today was Equity Bank as a large cross (foreign seller, local buyer) highlighted the day. The banking group closed down 2.6% at KES46.00. There was some local crossing in Centum (+80bps, KES65.00) while KNCB gained 2.8% to KES56.00. EABL finally showed some resilience as it closed up 1.1% at KES280.00 despite foreign buying.
Another slow day in Port Louis as turnover amountd to $710k with MCBG (31k shares) and SBMH (5.1m shares) very quiet.
Another generally muted session with the lack of interest pushing the market lower. Banks fell by 72bps with almost the entire action focused on Zenith (+37bps, N19.07) and GTB (-67bps, N26.62). Consumers were even harder hit as they lost 1.41% although action in the sector was incredibly dull.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A better day in Harare but still nothing to write home about as turnover amounted to $479k with some action in Innscor ($167k) the only name worth mentioning.
