A decent day in Gaborone (relatively speaking) as turnover amounted to $906k thanks to Letshego (1.8m shares) and Sechaba (84k shares).
Today was all about Safcom as some heavy foreign participation on both sides of the coin dominated the market. The telco ended the day at KES16.15 (-1.2%). Equity Bank also saw a cross as the banking group continues to fall (-2.2%, KES45.00) while Centum was yet again a recipient of local crossing (-2.3%, KES63.50). EABL (unch, KES280.00) finally showing some signs of stability.
A much better day in Port Louis as turnover amounted to $3.6m thanks to two crosses in Sun Resorts as a total of 2.79m shares traded in the hotelier while the rest of the market was very quiet.
Groundhog day resumed in Lagos as volumes and sentiment remain low. It was a frustrating day though as the feed from the NSE to Bloomberg was down hence it was a day of trading in the dark. Banks fell by 1.03% as their slide continues. The bulk of the action took place in Zenith (-26bps, N19.02) while GTB also saw a little bit of flow (-83bps, N26.40). Consumers showed a small outperformance (+21bps) although outside of NB (-18bps, N139.00) nothing much was happening in the sector. Forte Oil saw some decent trading (-1.53%, N194.48).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Activity continued to improve as turnover amounted to $704k thanks to a cross in Econet ($525k) while the rest of the market was very quiet.
