A better day in Gaborone but still nothing much to write home about eith some small action in Sefalana (167k shares).
Sentiment remains incredibly weak across the Kenyan bourse. Volumes are also dire and if it wasn’t for a chunky cross in EABL late in the session the market volumes would barley have crossed the $2m mark. EABL closed up 40bps at KES271.00 while Safcom (unch, KES14.50), Equity Bank (-60bps, KES41.00) and KNCB (-1.8%, KES41.00) were all soft.
Activity continues to underwhelm in Port Louis as turnover failed to break the $1m mark yet again. Some action in NMH the only name worth noting as 702k shares changed hands while the likes of MCBG and SBMH were very quiet.
A painfully dull day yet again in Nigeria as sentiment remains weak. Banks fell by 1.89% with volumes in the sector thin. Consumers were also soft as they fell by 81bps. Most investors are watching as the results continue to get released and today we saw the likes of ETI, Oando, Dangote Sugar and Nestle release results.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
A chunky cross in Afdis (58.75c) was the lion’s share of an active day in Harare. Econet (27c) and Delta (82c) also saw some mild activity.
