Some small activity in FNBB the only name worth mentioning on a quiet day in Gaborone.
Today was all about the large cross in EQBNK ($24.7m) as we were told that it was a transfer from an individual to a corporate. Elsewhere, there was some action in Safcom ($3m) and BMBC ($1.3m) as the names closed unchanged and +0.50% higher respectively.
A slightly soft day in Port Louis with turnover yet again dominated by the 2 banking giants. SBMH inched higher by 30bps to Rs7.28 while MCBG dipped lower to Rs272.75 (-60bps).
A better day in Lagos, but still nothing to write home about, with some action in GTB ($3.9m), DangCem ($2.3m) and NB ($2.1m) driving proceedings. Banking stocks closed the day +0.53% higher while consumers fell -1.24% thanks to NB (-2.12%).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Yet again locals ruling the roost in Zimbabwe. Today’s major activity went through in Innscor (72c) while CBZ (10c) also saw a modicum of activity.
