Nothing much to report from Gaborone except for some small local trading across multiple counters.
The market inched higher today on some robust activity. Yet again Safcom heavily dominated turnover accounting for more than 60% of the total market turnover. The telco rose by 1.10% to KES23.00. The rest of the market was dull with just Co-Op Bank (unch, KES14.00) and KNCB (unch, KES 37.75) seeing any action.
Some small activity in MCBG, but nothing to write home about as 41k shares changed hands in the name while the rest of the market was dead quiet.
A very dull end to what has been a very dull week in Lagos. The index drifted slightly higher with banks (+99bps) the main reason for this. The only decent action took place in Zenith Bank (+98bps, N20.60). Consumers fell by 64bps on small volumes.
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Some activity in Old Mutual ($343k) the only name worth mentioning on a slow day to close out the week in Harare.
