Movers & Shakers: July 10, 2017

Botswana: Data not available at the time of writing

Kenya: NSE 20 -0.27%, USD 2.25m

It was an incredibly quiet session in Kenya today as turnover barely cracked the $2m barrier. The best illustration in the lack of activity was the fact that the most active stock was StanChart while all the major stocks barely moved.

Mauritius: Semdex -0.11%, USD 810k

A dull start to the week in Mauritius. Approximately half the total turnover went through in MCBG (unch, Rs270.00) with the rest of the market extremely quiet.

Nigeria: ASI +0.50%, USD 6.4m

The day started off slowly and never really got going. The index did gain some ground mostly on the back of Banks which rose by 1.97%. The major trading today went through in GTB (+6bps, N34.62) Zenith Bank (+3.45%, N21.31). Consumers ended the day marginally in the red on the back of minimal trading.

Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.

Zimbabwe: Industrials +0.17%, USD 955k

Volumes feel as though they are tailing off in Harare whilst the index continues to chug along. The major action today went through in Seedco (145c) and Delta ($1.2725).
