Letshego saved the day once again from an activity point of view as 7.4m shares traded in the name while there was also some activity in Sechaba as 148k shares traded.
A much better day in Nairobi in terms of activity as foreign buyers pushed the market +1.26% higher. EQBNK (+1.9%) was the most active counter on the day as foreigners sought after the name with 5.2m shares changing hands. Safcom (+2.5%) was also very strong on foreign demand as 12.2m shares traded in the telco. KNCB (+3.2%) and EABL (+0.7%) also closed higher on 3.9m shares and 432k shares respectively.
An extremely active day in Port Louis with some solid activity in the likes of MCBG (250k shares), SBMH (58.4m shares), LUX (109k shares) and IBL (53k shares).
A better day in Lagos but still nothing to write home about with GTB ($1.8m) and Zenith ($1.6m) the only names worth mentioning. DangCem continues its strong post results run with the market heavyweight gaining +7.51%. Banking stocks closed higher with the sector gaining (+1.88%) thanks to Zenith (+4.96%) and Access (+2.72%). Consumers (+0.02%) closed slightly higher with a strong performance in Dangote Sugar (+4.97%).
Please note that the index figure above is correct at the time of writing.
Another day of underwhelming activity in Harare with nothing of any substance worth reporting.
