A massive cross in Letshego helped boost proceedings in Gaborone as 27.1m shares traded in the name. Elsewhere, there was some small activity in FNBB as 650k shares traded while the rest of the market was very quiet.
Another rather average day in Nairobi as foreigners continue to dominate. A large foreign cross in KNCB drove turnover as 4m shares traded with the counter closing unchanged. Safcom closed the day slightly lower with the telco falling -0.6% on 8.4m shares. Diamond Trust Bank managed to close the day +3.3% higher on local demand. Not much on the go in EABL and EQBNK as 346k shares and 888k shares traded in the names respectively.
A pretty chunky foreign cross in Rockcastle (Rs231.00) accounted for the bulk of today’s trading volumes. Normal trading was rather dull with the exception of MCBG (-20bps, Rs210.00).
A better day in Lagos from an activity point of view, but still well below historical norms. There was some action in WAPCO ($5.0m), Zenith ($2.0m), GTB ($1.3m) and UBA ($1.3m). Banks came under some pressure with the sector falling -2.09% thanks to ETI (-9.72%) after releasing a profit warning and GTB (-2.47%). UBA managed to buck the trend and closed +9.68% higher after releasing FY 2015 results. Consumers (-1.54%) also closed in negative territory with some pressure on NB (-4.12%).

The Harare bourse bounced back slightly today thanks to some action in Delta (56.5c) and Innscor (18c).
